To be able to generate live sessions to be broadcast on your Youtube channel via streaming from ClassOnLive you will need:
1-A verified Gmail or Google Workspace email account
2-A verified Youtube channel where you want to do the broadcasts.
3-Streaming broadcast software (OBS, Streamlabs, or similar)
By default, every Gmail or Google Workspace account already has an associated Youtube channel, but it is usually not verified to be able to stream.
To check if your channel is ready, go to https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard
If a screen like this appears, you must request verification and wait (normally 24 hours) before being able to perform the integration in ClassOnLive.
Once you have your Google account and your Youtube channel verified, the next step is to integrate this account in ClassOnLive.
Go to your dashboard and go to Trainings-->Streaming Systems
Scroll down to the section that says Youtube Live:
In that section you will see
-your account and your instructors' accounts in ClassOnLive.
-associated Google account (empty if the integration has not yet been done)
-action button to associate a Google/Youtube account
To associate a Google/Youtube account to a user, click the green button and a window like this will appear:
You can choose between a new account or one that you have previously used to integrate with another user.
When selecting "Add New Google Account", a text box will be displayed where you will need to enter the Gmail or Google Workspace account you want to associate.
When you click Continue, you will be taken to a Google wizard, where it will ask you to confirm which account you want to use, which Youtube channel, and whether you grant ClassOnLive permission to manage the Streaming sessions.
These are the screens you will go through:
1-Choose Gmail or Google Workspace account
2-If you have several Youtube channels associated, a screen may appear for you to choose exactly which channel you want to associate.
3-Screen to allow ClassOnLive to link your account and Youtube channel so that you can create, modify, delete, and deliver streaming sessions directly from ClassOnLive
After these steps, your account will be integrated and you will see it reflected in your panel
If you want to remove the association, you only have to click the red Delete button and confirm.
You can now generate live sessions to be broadcast via Youtube Live.
Important: You can only generate single sessions. Multiple sessions are not allowed to be delivered via Youtube.
To verify that the integration is correct we can create a Webinar.
Go to Trainings-->Create and select Webinar
and fill in the form data until you reach the section to create the session:
When clicking Add Session, we will add the data of the person who will give the session, day, time, duration, and we will choose to deliver it through Youtube Live.
If your integration is correct you will see the session created; otherwise an error message will appear and you will have to verify your integration
Once the Webinar is created, you will be able to access it to deliver as you normally do; you will simply be redirected to your Youtube channel where you will see the information needed to link your broadcasting software (OBS, Streamlabs, or similar).
You will need the stream key and the stream URL.
With that data, open your broadcasting program. We provide the steps to follow with OBS:
Click Settings-->Stream and enter the values from Youtube Studio, then click Apply and then OK.
Make sure that in Sources we have assigned the signal we want to broadcast. If none appears, simply click the + button located at the bottom of that window to add one.
Once it's ready, click Start Streaming.
Go back to Youtube Studio and make sure that our signal is already arriving from OBS:
and from there, to start the session, click Go Live.
At that moment, it will indicate that we are live and we will have access to the Chat.
Important: Once you click End Stream you will not be able to access this session again to broadcast.
Every broadcast on Youtube is automatically recorded and uploaded to your channel. You can then copy it, if you wish, to your Media Library to associate it with your course.
Students will access it as always, from their dashboard or from the link they will receive in a reminder to the Youtube room.
