My microphone doesn't work

Please verify that

  • Your microphone settings are correct on your computer and that it is not muted.

  • You have selected the correct microphone if you have multiple microphones.

  • Close any other programs that may be using your microphone (such as Skype, Hangouts, etc.) and exit and re-enter the virtual room.

  • If all else fails, restart your web browser and then your computer.

  • Check that you do not have ad blockers activated in your browser.

  • Check that you haven't blocked it and that you have the browser permissions to access the microphone. This varies by browser, but here's how to view it in Chrome:

***For webinar rooms, if you ask for the floor, the presenter must authorize you to speak, so make sure they have given you the right to share your microphone. Ask the presenter in the chat.
