The student immediately loses access to the course content when they are removed from the course, regardless of how or where the cancellation is made.
For this reason, we recommend sending an email or including the cancellation terms within the course content, as well as maintaining clear and regular communication with your students to avoid misunderstandings or unpleasant situations.
Students can be removed from a course in the following ways (these options may vary depending on your plan):
1- The student unenrolls on their own
a. In the case of subscriptions, the student can cancel or manage their subscription directly from their dashboard:
The student is informed that they will lose access:
b. For one-time payment or free courses, the student will see the option to unenroll from the course.
c. In case of subscrption model, the student may cancel the recurring payment through PayPal or block the payment through their card or bank.
2- Manually remove the student
You can unsubscribe the student. In the green "actions" button for the training, you will find the "students" option. In this option, you will see the list of students and you can unenroll them:
3- When the course end date is reached
When creating the course, set an end date and, in the "Notifications" section, select the option to cancel the student's subscription and notify them. You must complete both steps for this to work:
When creating the course:
In the "Notifications" section:
4- When the student completes 100% of the course
Create an automation rule to cancel the student's subscription once they have completed 100% of the course:
In all the aforementioned cases, students are automatically removed from the course and IMMEDIATELY lose access to the training content.
Memberships/Subscriptions: What happens to the days already paid for?
Loss of access is immediate, even if there are days remaining in the contracted subscription period. For example, if a student purchases a quarterly subscription today to access a course, even though the contracted period is three months, if they cancel the subscription tomorrow, they will lose access to the course from that moment on. Cancellation is not limited only to preventing the next charge. It also implies the immediate termination of the subscription and of access to the content.
Why is access deactivated immediately?
This measure keeps the subscription status synchronized with student access and protects the course creator's content. It also prevents situations where a student might cancel their subscription, later request a refund or initiate a chargeback, and in the meantime continue accessing, downloading, or copying materials. Therefore, when the subscription is no longer active, the associated access is also deactivated.
Other considerations
Students will no longer be enrolled in this course, but this does not affect other training programs they are enrolled in.
If you are going to release content by days or on specific dates, keep in mind that adding an end date will take precedence.
If you unenroll the student from the course, they become an inactive student (unless they are enrolled in other courses). Although you can access the student's progress information while they are inactive, the student disappears from the course list, so it is recommended not to unenroll them if you want to keep them on the list.
When a student is unenrolled, they disappear from the list of students for that specific training (though not from the total student list in the Users section) and lose access to the course; however, the progress the student achieved in this training is retained. Here you can see how to access student progress.
